It's a need for one of my children. In the first few years I was praying, I waffled between pursuing faith and heartbreak. I'd feel guilty for the days all I could do was just cry and throw up. My faith was not gone, but Satan was dealing me blows in this battle as I stood for my child. As time continued on, I got wiser in how I formed my plan of battling the enemy. He can't fool me into despair anymore because I know my God is in control.
No, my answer hasn't come yet, but I see signs that God is working on it. When Satan cannot have us, he hits us in our hearts. Have you found that to be true? When he knows that we are not turning away from our faith in Christ, he finds other ways to wear us down and hurt us. He usually hits us with people or things we love first. I fully believe he is expecting us to turn around and just give up. I really don't think he knows he loses in the end, to be honest. I think he fully intends to win and WIN BIG!
So, what do we do when we find ourselves in rough places, places of agony or even despair and we are trusting God for a divine answer?
We are human and we will endure our own humanity with emotional hurts, but that doesn't mean we are giving up. In fact, I've had some blows from the enemy that just made me plum mad enough to come at him stronger than ever! I don't think he's choosing a winning strategy when he does that. But, he's arrogant and prideful, so I'm sure he can't imagine himself NOT winning.
Here's what I do when I feel his attack: I bind him in Jesus Name. I speak the promises of God over the situation. I pray in the Spirit. And, I thank God with a heart full of praise for His answer!
I don't know when God is going to fully deliver my child, but I DO know He will.
My part is to stand in faith, believing and praying for the outcome needed. God's part is to do the divine: intervene, rescue, deliver and restore. I could NEVER do any of those things. ONLY He can!
So, if I worry, fret, give in to discouragement or doubt, I'm falling right into the enemy's plan. He wants me to feel obligated to allow those feelings to get stirred up in me. He knows that if he can get me to stop believing for God's intervention, my hope will be lost and I will give up. He will have taken my child captive and may even take his life.
But, this is not a battle I am fighting. It is the Battle of the Lord! I'm not able to resolve this. Only my Father in Heaven is. But, as I do my part to stand, believe and praise Him, His answer is one day closer to being here.
In Daniel, the angel says to Daniel that he was sent with his answer from the moment he began to fast and pray, but he was held up in battle with a demonic prince. An Archangel had to come take his place in the battle so he could come to Daniel with the answer. Daniel's PRAYERS are what sent the answer!
Do you think you are any different than Daniel to God? You are not! You just were born a lot later is all. God told us the story of Daniel in His Word so we would see a spiritual truth, learn from it and apply it. When you start to pray and fast, your answer is sent. You may need to do spiritual warfare until that answer arrives.
The key is this........you just CHOOSE to not give up! Don't feel obligated to doubt, sorrow and pain! They are not from God.
He says in Galatians 6:9, "Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest IF WE DO NOT GIVE UP!"
Yes, you may need to take a break at times. But, when you are refreshed, maybe by a few days away or some time in prayer and fasting, put your armor back on and get in the battle again. The war will be won and God will make a way.......but, only as we decide to not give up. And, we do not fight with worldly weapons, but with spiritual ones.
Ephesians 6:12 says, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places."
So, what does it mean to wage a spiritual battle? It means praying to the Lord with petitions of thanksgiving. It means using the power of the Holy Spirit as you pray. It means applying His Word and speaking it aloud to the enemy just as Jesus did when He was fasting for forty days in the wilderness and Satan came to tempt Him. It means speaking in authority over evil with the blood of Christ and your words of testimony. (Rev.12:11) And, then continuing to stand in faith until that day comes when your answer arrives. James says stand believing, not being double minded, for if we pray double minded (not really believing it will come), we will receive nothing.
You can do this!
You and your Savior, Jesus Christ!
Walk in His ways and speak with authority over the enemy and watch God come and be the RESCUER!
You do the believing in Him and He will bring the power that overcomes!
Praying for all of you and asking Him to make the path clear in all your ways! I'm walking this journey with you!
Treasuring You,
Karen
